Amazin’ Raisin Cake

3 C unsifted flour
2 C sugar
1 C Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise
1/3 C milk
½ tsp salt
2 eggs
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp baking soda
3 cups chopped, peeled apples (Granny Smith)
1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
1 C seedless raisins
½ C coarsely chopped walnuts

Grease & flour 2 9 round baking pans or bundt pan.

In large bowl with mixer at low speed, beat flour, sugar, mayonnaise, milk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves for 2 minutes, scraping bowl frequently. (Or beat vigorously 300 strokes by hand)
Batter will be very thick .

With spoon, sir in apples, raisins and nuts. Spoon batter into pan. Bake in 350º oven 45 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove. Cool completely. For 2 layer cake, frost with 2 cups whipped cream if desired. Bundt cake can be served with whipped cream on top of slices if desired.
